About Us

About LTYA Baseball
LTYA Baseball is a recreational youth sports league that emphasizes participation over competition and education over performance. We strive to ensure that all participants, regardless of skill level, have the opportunity to play and we expect managers, coaches, and parents to maintain a safe, positive, and nourishing environment.
Our baseball program's home site is the Field of Dreams in Bee Cave, Tx. We serve the Lakeway, Bee Cave, Spicewood and surrounding area but accept players from any community regardless of residence.

Our baseball program offers every child 5 through 14 years of age the opportunity to participate regardless of ability, disability, skill level, talent or financial need.

If you wish to learn more about LTYA Baseball or understand how you can help, please contact any member of our Baseball Board and/or Baseball Commissioners.

FAQ's
General

Q. Is my child on the same team for both the spring and fall seasons?

A. No, new teams are selected every season and they do not have any affiliation to the teams formed in the spring or with the previous fall's team.

Q. How many practices/games per week and where will they be?

A. In general there are 2-3 events per week consisting of either practices or games. LTYA plays at the Field of Dreams located off of highway 71. Some practices may be at the local school facilities as well. There is occasion that certain leagues may interlock with other local rec programs such as Dripping Springs which may require travel to play especially in the Fall when our team counts are lower.

Q. Can I request that my child play on a team with their best friend?

A. Except in the American Division of the 6U Discovery League, we cannot fulfill requests to have children paired up on teams with their friends.

Q. Can I request that my child be put on a team with a friend so that we can carpool to games and practices?

A. The league, when organizing teams, cannot fulfill requests to have children paired up on teams because of carpooling requests.

Q. Can I request that my player be placed on a team with a specific Coach?

A. The league, when organizing teams, cannot fulfill requests to have children placed with specific coaches. However, this comment is passed along to managers when selecting teams.

Q. Can I request that my player NOT be placed on a team with a specific Coach?

A. The league will honor all valid requests to not place players on teams with a coaching conflict. However to be a valid request, an explanation as to why that player cannot be placed with that specific coach must be given to the league commissioner, league vice president or president in writing. Merely stating a desire in the comment section of the registration form is NOT acceptable. All explanations are discreetly reviewed and if the reason for not pairing a player and coach is valid. If valid a simple note stating that a specific team (not a coach) is not a placement option for that player will be presented during the team selection process.

Q. Can I request that my player NOT be placed on a team with a specific other player?

A. This is a very unfortunate situation but the league, when organizing teams, cannot fulfill requests to not have certain children placed on teams with other specific players. However, this comment is passed along to managers when selecting teams and a conscious effort is undertaken to avoid placing players with historical issues (between them) on the same team.

Q. Can I choose to have (or not have) my child placed on the same team as his sibling?

A. The league will honor this request either way. A notation will appear next to your child’s name stating your request.

Q. Do my team placement requests carry forward with each registration?

A. No. Requests for team placement considerations must be made at the beginning of each new each season. Also note that requests are individual and must be placed on each child's registration separately.

Q. My child misses the cut-off date by 1 day; can they play in the same league as their friends?

A. No. Leagues are formed by age and grade. If a player does not meet either of these criterion he is not eligible to play up.

Q. My child has tremendous natural abilities and superior abilities (for his age) when it comes to playing baseball. Is he allowed to move up into an older league to play with players who have like abilities?

A. Recently we've changed the way that leagues are formed to help accommodate for this.  Please see the main page to see the league cutoffs for each age group.   Leagues are formed by age and grade. These are the only criteria used when deciding in which league your child will play.
