LTYA fall volleyball is offered to girls in 3rd-6th grade with grades 3-4 and grades 5-6 playing together. Teams will be formed and each team will have a weekly practice and a Saturday game subject to LTISD blackout dates.  In addition, there will be a weekly clinic night with paid instructors to help the girls with training, instruction and skill development.  The season will start at the end of August and run through early to mid November.  The exact nights of the weeknight practice and the weekly skills session is TBD subject to gym availability from LTISD. Historically our clinics have been on Monday nights at LTHS, practices on Wednesday or Thursday nights at LTMS and Saturday games at LTMS.  Our goal is to provide a positive opportunity for youth players of all skill levels to participate in the sport of volleyball.

We are excited to announce a new partner for our weekly volleyball clinics this year, Austin Junior Volleyball. Austin Junior Volleyball is a non-profit youth organization founded in 1984 as a girl’s volleyball club. The AJV teams participate extensively throughout Texas and in other tournaments around the country from late November through early July. Since its inception, Austin Junior Volleyball, has expanded to include boys volleyball and sand volleyball. Austin Junior Volleyball has won 5 National Championships in its history.

This year, Austin Junior Volleyball, with the support of the LTYA, is excited to host free volleyball clinics in the fall to all LTYA participants in 3rd grade to 6th grade.  AJV will provide instruction in the basic skills needed to play volleyball including serving, passing, setting, and hitting.  AJV will provide high level instructors with a 1:12 coach to player ratio.  The AJV staff running the clinics have successfully coached in the club level, collegiate level, and international level.  This is a great opportunity to learn the game of volleyball, meet new friends, and have a lot of fun.
