FALL 2024 AGE MATRIX (Use the chart to determine best age group for your player) 

How Are Teams Formed?

Teams are formed by birth year and school attended when possible. Teams cannot be formed by grade due to US Soccer rules. Players are allowed to play “UP” on recommendation from our staff but will never be allowed to play down in an age group. This is important to consider when registering with friends or to a team as you will need to register to the age group of the oldest player you are looking to play with. 

Please include as much request information as possible such as previous coach information, requested coach and requested friends to assist in placing your player.  When no request information is placed teams are formed based on school or zip code information when possible.  We do not guarantee that we will fill requests but will do our best.

U4

Age Group: 2021 Birth Year 
Day/Time/Location: Saturday, 9-9:45am @ Bee Cave Middle School

Program Structure: 45 Minute Training Session with a Paid LTE Coach (Volunteers can assist) 

Program Description: 
The U4 program is an introductory soccer class that has a curriculum in place to introduce a soccer ball into play in a fun, creative and imaginative way. We want to grasp our introductory players' imagination with a curriculum that they can relate to.4 P All sessions are set up with games, with a small portion of scrimmaging. 

U5

Age Group: 2020 Birth Year 
Day/Time/Location: Saturday, between 8am-1pm @ Bee Cave Middle School

Program Structure: 1 hour is broken up into a 30 minutes training session with a 30 minute game against another team. 

Program Description: 
The U5 program builds upon the U4 program in terms of the training content, we still want to make it creative and imaginative but at this age they will get to play a 3v3 or 4v4 game against an opposition team. All training is led by volunteer coaches and this is coed and no scores are kept. 

Extension Program (Optional):Pre-Academy Training: 
ALL U5 players have the option of signing up for an additional 8 sessions with a professional coach. The session will take place on a Tuesday or Thursday from 5-6pm @ FOD (At An Additional Cost of $120). Players can only register if they are part of the LTYA Fall season play. The program with a professional coach will work on all of the foundational skills in a enjoyable environment to take your player skills to the next level.  You can register when registering for regular FALL soccer season. Program will begin the week of 9/3.

U6

Age Group:: 2019 Birth Year 
Day/Time/Location: Saturday, between 8am-1pm @ Bee Cave Middle School

Program Structure: 1 hour is broken up into a 30 minutes training session with a 30 minute game against another team. 

Program Description: 
The U6 program builds upon the U5 program in terms of the training content, we still want to make it creative and imaginative but at this age they are no longer coed but they will still play a 3v3 or 4v4 game against an opposition team. All training is led by volunteer coaches and no scores are kept. At the U6 level we will encourage coaches to introduce throw-ins and kick offs in the game portion. There are still no goalkeepers at this level.

U7

Age Group: 2018 Birth Year 
Day/Time/Location: Saturday, between 8am-1pm @ Bee Cave Middle School

 Program Structure: 1 hour is broken up into a 30 minutes training session with a 30 minute game (2 halves of 15 mins) against another team. 

Program Description: 
The U7 program builds upon the U6 program in terms of the training content, but we start to introduce a lot more structure in terms of individual skill building and overall training content. At this age they will play a 5v5 (With A goalkeeper) game against an opposition team. All training is led by volunteer coaches and no scores are kept. At the U7 level we will have throw-ins and kick offs in the game portion. We will NOT have offsides.

U8

Age Group: 2017 Birth Year

Training - Monday through Thursday, between 5-8pm - Coach Decides)
Games - Friday Nights, between 5pm-9pm @ Field of Dreams or Bee Creek Sports Complex

Program Structure: 1 hour during the week training session (Day and Time Chosen by the volunteer coach) and a game on Friday evening against another team. You may get the occasional Saturday game. 

Program Description: 
The U8 Program is the next biggest progression. We start to train 1x a week and then have a game on Friday evenings. This age group is set up to challenge players more in training and games by going a little more into detail with the curriculum. Scores are now kept, offsides, throw-in’s and kick-offs are now all brought into play. All U8 teams will get an end of season tournament. 

Extension Program (Optional):Striker Training: 
ALL U8 players have the option of signing up for an additional 8 sessions with a professional coach for Striker training. The session will take place on a Tuesday or Thursday from 6-7pm @ FOD (At An Additional Cost of $120). Players can only register if they are part of the LTYA Fall season play. The program with a professional coach will work on solely striking and shooting the ball!  You can register when registering for regular FALL soccer season. Program will begin the week of 9/3.

Age Group: 2014 (U11) & 2013 (U12) Birth Year 
Day/Time/Location: 
Training - Monday through Thursday, between 6-9pm - Coach Decides)
Games - Saturdays (All Day) or Sunday (Afternoons) 

Program Structure: 1 hour during the week training session (Day and Time Chosen by the volunteer coach) and a game on Saturday/Sunday against another team from another organization. 

Program Description: 
The U11 Program is more travel since we need to have more teams to play against. Teams play 9v9 (8 field players and 1 goalkeeper). Practices and 50% of games are in Lake Travis other 50% of games are played across the Greater Austin area up to an hour away. The commitment is 1 practice a week and games on Saturday or Sunday. ALL U11 & U12 teams will play 9v9. 

Extension Program (Optional):Striker Training: 
ALL U11/12+ players have the option of signing up for an additional 8 sessions with a professional coach for Striker training. The session will take place on a Tuesday or Thursday from 7-8pm @ FOD (At An Additional Cost of $120). Players can only register if they are part of the LTYA Fall season play.  Games - Saturdays (All Day) or Sunday (Afternoons)
