

Unified Sports is a unique Special Olympics program that promotes inclusion and acceptance among athletes with and without intellectual disabilities. LTYA IS EXCITED to pilot an introduction to Unified volleyball that aligns with our fall youth recreational league. We will offer 3 one hour clinics for our special needs athletes in the Lake Travis community in September, followed by 3 Unified scrimmages in October!! See dates and details below.
Skills Clinics: Basic volleyball skills will be introduced and built upon with each clinic. Lake Travis High School head volleyball coach, Brandace Boren will lead our development program with the help of LTYA coaches and volunteers.
Dates: Saturdays 9/10, 9/17 and 9/24
Times: 2:00-3:00pm (times subject to change)

Division 1: Grades 3rd and 4th
Division 2: Grades 5th and 6th grade
Unified scrimmages: A culmination of skills developed will be brought to real game play with our LTYA rec league athletes. Teams will be determined based on equal athlete to partner ratio and assigned after clinics conclude.
Dates: Saturdays 10/1, 10/15, 10/22

Gear needed: Your athlete will need the following for all clinics and scrimmages:
Knee pads
Moveable shorts (volleyball or athletic style) preferably in black
Socks
Tennis shoes
Water bottle
Hair pulled back or away from face
