Fall Volleyball 2023 - Important Dates and Information

LTYA Volleyball EOS Tournament 2023

LTYA fall volleyball is a coed program for grades 3rd-6th with grades 3-4 and grades 5-6 playing together. Teams will be formed, and each team will have a weekly practice. Games will be on Saturday's subject to LTISD blackout dates if using LTISD gyms. 

August 21st player evaluations @ LTHS 6-7pm (5th grade) and 7:15-8:15pm (6th grade)

August 27th coach clinic and draft @ High Five: 4-5pm clinic, draft starts at 5pm

Clinic dates @ LTHS MAIN GYM ONLY 6:30- 7:30pm 3rd-4th grade, 7:45-8:45pm 5th-6th grade (CLUB TBD)

Monday: August 28, September 11,18, 25, October 2, 16, 23, 30 and November 6th (no clinic on September 4 or October 9th)

Practice dates @ LTHS MAIN & AUX GYMS 6:30-7:30pm (3rd- 4th grade), 7:45pm-9pm (5th-6th grades)

       Wednesday: August 30, September 6, 13, 20, 27, October 11, 18, 25 November 1, 8 (no October 4)

       Thursday: August 31, September 7, 14, 21, 28, October 12, 19, 26, November 2, 9 (no October 5)

Games@ LTMS: September 9, 16*, 23, 30 October 14, 21, 28, November 4 (no October 7) - * 9/16 games are at BCMS

End of Season Tournament: Saturday November 11th. Schedule and Format TBD.

TOTS Volleyball Program Fall 2023

TOTS Volleyball Fall 2023

LTYA Volleyball TOTS program is for boys & girls in Grades 1 & 2 and is designed as an introduction to Volleyball. 
 
The program is led by LTHS Varsity Volleyball coach Brandace Boren and will be held at LTHS on Sunday afternoons from Noon - 1:00pm on 9/10 – 10/22, excluding  Sunday10/8.

This program is clinic style with game play each week overseen by Coach Boren and her staff.

TEAM COACH RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Coach Responsibilities:

  • LTYA, with support from Austin Performance Volleyball and LTHS Volleyball Coach Brandace Boren, will provide a free coaching clinic to all volunteer coaches
  • Coaching manual to help plan your practices, drills and games will be provided
  • Hold practice with your team once per week
  • Direct your team during games.  Games are played Saturday’s with different schedules depending on the age group. Gym space it still being determined however, practices and games are generally at Bee Creek United Methodist and/or LTHS
  • Promote fair play and team spirit
  • Communicate with the parents about schedules for practices and games
  • Communicate with the volleyball commissioner to answer parent questions

LTYA and Austin Performance Volleyball partner together to host free volleyball clinics in the fall to all LTYA participants in 3rd  grade to 6th  grade.  AP will provide instruction on the basic skills needed to play volleyball including serving, passing, setting and hitting.  The AP staff have successfully coached in the club level and is a great opportunity for participants and coaches to learn the game of volleyball, meet new friends and have a lot of fun!

Volleyball Equipment

LTYA Volleyball will provide players a game shirt

LTYA players should purchase:

Court shoes (running shoes are ok)

Socks

Knee Pads (black or white)

Black Spandex or Nike moveable (like) shorts

T shirt

Water

Something to keep their hair out their eyes

LTYA Volleyball provides coaches plenty of balls for practices and games.

Note:  Please be sure water bottles/jugs have a secure seal as to prevent spills on the gym floors.
