During the Summer Months, LTYA Softball fields All-Star teams in each division. This is a highly competitive and fun filled environment. All-star teams will play in at least 2 tournaments in the season with the potential of 3 tournaments if the teams succeed in advancing to the Championship Series Tournament. Tournaments are mostly located around the Austin area, but could be in the outlying areas.
All-Star Team Selection Process
Players' Parents will submit a form towards the end of season indicating their desire to play in All-Stars. The coaches within their leagues will submit their recommendations for the All-Star team to the All-Star coach. Decisions will be made based on players' demonstrated ability throughout the season of play and the positional needs of the team.
Playing Time & Other Expectations
Since All-Stars is a highly competitive league, some players may not have a lot of playing time depending on the game situation. Coaches are not required to play every player in each game. All players will have ample practice time and the fond memories of playing competitively together.
All-Stars is a large time commitment for both the player and parent. There will be several practices throughout the week with tournaments over the weekends with some tournament games starting around noon on Fridays.
