Get ready for rec baseball season with our Dust the Rust Camp, a focused two-hour skills camp designed to help players ages 6 to 12 shake off the offseason and prepare for upcoming LTYA rec baseball assessments.

This camp will be hosted by LTYA’s President of the LTYA Outlaws, Jake Arrieta, along with the Outlaw coaching staff. A former MLB All-Star, Cy Young Award winner, and World Series Champion, Jake has experienced success at every level of the game. Beyond his playing career, he is deeply passionate about teaching the game the right way, with an emphasis on player development, discipline, and competing with purpose.

Dust the Rust attendees will have the opportunity to work closely with several former Major League players, college players, and current LT High School players, providing a unique and high-level instructional experience.

The camp will emphasize core fundamentals, including fielding, throwing, and hitting. Players will rotate through skill-based stations and participate in a mock assessment designed to help them feel confident and prepared for official LTYA rec baseball evaluations.

The DB Academy is a defensive-focused training program for athletes in 3rd through 6th grade, designed to develop strong movement fundamentals, confidence, and on-field awareness. This program provides structured, age-appropriate instruction with an emphasis on quality repetitions and proper technique.

Athletes will train in a focused environment that emphasizes total body control, balance, and defensive football IQ. Sessions are designed to help players move more efficiently, react faster, and better understand defensive responsibilities in game situations.

Training will be led by 6A Texas State Semifinalist Coaches, including Ryan Luedecke, Chance Grayson, and Barrett Shirey, along with former Lake Travis Cavalier defensive backs, providing athletes with experienced, high-level defensive instruction.

• Defensive footwork, balance, and body control

• Movement patterns and change of direction

• Proper defensive positioning and alignment

• Backpedal technique and transition mechanics

• Pursuit angles and leverage

• Ball awareness from a defensive perspective

• On-field communication and defensive awareness

This camp is open to all skill levels.

Athletes will be grouped by age to ensure appropriate instruction, pacing, and development for every participant.
